How often do I need to change my car’s engine oil?

If you’re planning to keep your car long-term, it’s definitely worth having the oil changed twice a year or every 5,000 to 7,000 miles. It used to be the case that engine oil needed to be changed more often but with modern synthetic lubricants, the intervals in between changes can be safely extended.
